Well, I am now ordering my exhaust system complete with headers, 2 1/2 inch pipes, and turbo mufflers, a cam, and some other parts to repair broken items on my car, but I now have another problem. I am driving like my grandmother is in the car and I am still only getting about 10 mpg. Is this normal, or is there something wrong. I am still gonna get my performance out of the 350, but I now wonder if there are any other considerations that I should make in order to improve my gas mileage. Any ideas? Thanks guys.

No, 10 mpg is not normal. Mine got about 14 city/ 15 highway when I got it. Everything was stock and there was a leak where the header primary tubes came together. When I replaced the stock exhaust with a free flowing 2 1/2" dual system, my mileage went up to around 17 city/ 18-19 highway. Now with all my engine mods and a TH700r4, I've got over 350 hp and 17 city/ 22-23 highway.

Give the car a general tune up (plugs, wires, set timing to 12 BTDC). If that and your new exhaust system don't fix the problem, you might need to look at the carb.

God bless, Sensei

On the highway I am getting between,17 and 19 MPG
I don't really check when I am around town....
what kind of a carb do you have,as well as what Mods have been done to the vette???

this would give us an idea as to where to tell you to start looking!
