Glass T-Tops or not.......

Thanks, Craig. I wanted something for summer and that sounds like the most inexpensive ticket. I like the fact that it folds up and tucks away easily. Great

If you do order the Rain Coat top,
Please post your opinion on it.

Good Luck

And here it is opened up, the wine bottle is for scale.. not that I have a drinking problem :)

I love it, was actually the first thing I bought for the vette, great for the summer drives when you're not sure how long your going to be out and if the weather is uncertain.

Leave the tops at home take this baby along.

It has rubber seals along the window edges (on mine anyways) and the posts are actually bolts with screw caps so it snugs down without fear of it flyin away.

Also has center velcro straps that wrap around the center T post.

As an add on, what I did was lay down a strip of easily removable double sided tape velcro along the front to help keep the wind from lifting and flapping it.

Clear velcro is attached to the car and black that is on the cover.

You cant easily spot the velcro on the car, doesnt interfer with the normal tops and have actually removed the velcro twice with no damange to the cars molding.

BillyBob, could you post a picture with it on your Vette? I would like to see what it looks like on. Thanks

Hijinx,

The car is up on stands but I'm more then willing to freeze my arse off :) in the un heated shed, remove the comfy car cover, take off the tops and put on the canvas, and heck I may sit in it and pretend its warm like in Texas :L

I'll Try and get out to it in the morning when we have a bit of normal light if not I'll just drop in the blinders and pretend I can control night and day :)

Astro Tops

Guy's,

I just sent mine back. Thought it sounded great, one piece and cheaper than a glass replacement. I didn't like the fit on the rear, mine stuck up about an inch no matter how I adjusted it. The rear brackets are flimsy with little thumb screws to hold the top in place. Keep looking for the glass I think you'll be much happier.

Hey, its in the 30's here in Dallas today. I'm about to take mine out to warm her up so I can mess with the fuel mixture some more. May have to make a jet change today. Of course it was 75 on Wednesday and I was running around with the tops off. Guess I should not complain about a few 30 degree day's. Sorry BillyBob. It must suck to be up in the great white north. Course you have some of the best looking country around.

Hijinx,

I ended up getting hauled off to work today so I never got a chance to do the top thing. and when I got home it was just too damn cold to do the top. It was brutally cold here today.. in US numbers -5 Fahrenheit, but is supposed to warm up quite a bit, and I dont have to work so good to go in the morning.

Actually I like it up here, I used to live in Colorado which was nice aswell, but something about the area keeps me here. Oh ya no smog nazi's for classics :)

Bill

Actually, Texas, aint that bad in relation to the smog nazi's. I would really enjoy visiting, but Texas is my home. Actually one of the few remaining natives.

Hijinx,

Here we go, its was a bit milder out there today but still on the cold side, this is a shot from the front with the top on.

Bill

Heres a shot of the side that shows the velcro attached to the front and the side weather strips.

Now keeping in mind that its was cold it was harder then heck to get it as smooth as it could have been.

When warm the side rubber actually pulls back further and the top is a bit lower. I didnt use the center tie downs either but you should get enough of a general idea of how it fits and looks.

Thanks for the shots BillyBob. Looks great! Well, must have said too much. Its snowing here today. What I get for opening my mouth!
