Glue Recommendation

Hi!

I am going to be repairing a broken piece of plastic on the passenger side air vent (to wit: the part which connects up to the duct---behind the new, flat panel I put in to replace the late breadbox), and was wondering whether anyone knew of a glue which worked well on this type of plastic. As you may be aware, JB Weld doesn't work well on this stuff, so......before I experiment, or simply use black duck tape (which I think will work fine and won't show) does anyone have a glue they have used which works?

Thanks,

"gorilla glue" is the best glue I've ever used. Takes about 24 hours to fully set up but everything I've repaired with it is still together.

greetings,
i have used gorilla glue on many a project and although it holds well, be carefull as it swells and expands as it dries and believe me, it dries like solid steel. if it swells to areas ya don't want it to, you'll have a problem. just my 2-cents worth.

Thanks, everyone----I have heard about "gorilla glue" elsewhere, as well. I think I'll give it a shot on this project.

I agree completely. I used it to glue the plastic around the side of the air filter housing where the nut is. So far, it's held up and the nut has stayed in.

I also used it to glue together a wall of aluminum cans at work, but that's a different story :)

I would use a long curing epoxy. You can usually find 90 min. epoxy at the hardware store. The longer the cure time, the longer the glue will last until becoming brittle. 5 min. epoxy can fail within a year. I built a large 1/2 mil $ project with 3m-DP190 (4 hour cure) 8 years ago and it's still holding together.
