Welcome to the Corvette Forums at the Corvette Action Center!

Gm suckered C6 owners!

^^^^^ That's why I love that song so much. It really captures the essence of *driving* a sportscar. The sound, the feeling, the smell...etc.

It's even more special when the sportscar you get these feelings from is an old one. How many times do you get behind the wheel of a 1950s or 1960s Corvette....or even a 1960's Jaguar XKE - smell that vintage leather, hear that engine and exhaust as you shift through the gears, feel the car responding to your input, feel that wind rushing around you....

Bahhhh....gets me all excited and I'm stuck behind this desk for 8 hours. The only driving I can do is driving my computer mouse. :(

Yes, I had one of those E-type coupes--smelled the cracking leather, heard the engine, exhaust and whining non-syncromesh transmission, and watched the Lucas electronics go up in smoke. Actually it was a great car and far ahead of its day . As time goes on, we forget the faults and treasure the memories. Why did we sell those cars?

So... how or where do I get this Red Barchetta song??? Also, I'm already thinking of how a lot of the trick ZO6 Parts could find their way into a C6 Convertible!!!

I also had never heard this song so I...ahemmm...acquired it from sources unmentionable. Can't say it really does it for me but it's ok. If your mailbox will hold 5.64 MB I will send it to you.

Just how much power do you need?

It will never end so be happy if you are with what you have.

Well....all I have to say in light of this thread is....I hate GM. They suckered me in bad as well. So bad in fact...I want a C6...BAD. :D

only thing keeping me in a Vette right now is that I am waiting for the new Z06 - if it doesn't strike me, may be looking elsewhere

Three years from now, if Chevy is only offering a 400 hp convertible..... I may be looking at an AMG Merc.

I hope Chevy listens to us and offers a zo6 convertible.

Yeah, but you have to admit, all cars these days are computerized and they're all expensive to fix. Some are less so than others.

As for driving around with the windows down and the radio off...hell, I drive my Corvette with the windows down and the radio off. Not because I can't hear the radio when I turn it on, but because the sound of the engine and exhaust is too glorious to spoil with garbage from a radio. ;)
You think these cars are noisy jump into a 68 or 69 bigblock stingray now that 's noise, vibration and lots of heat coming from the engine compart.

THAT is THE perfect driving song. For some reason, I cannot listen to that song, and drive without the gas pedal mysteriously going down further towards the floor. :D
When an XKE pulled right on the right".

Lone73,

It's by those Canucks Rush on their "Moving Pictures" LP. An absolute must-play for any driving enthusiast. To this day it still gives me chills (and makes my right foot heavier) even though I've easily heard that song 1000 times. ..........

........Of course, I bet it's really really good when the wheels belong to a C6-Z06. :D

FWIW, this song is likely stored on my webspace somewhere. Now what was that address.....

Ooops! Sorry to jack the regularly scheduled thread, already in progress.
Ok, I'm Hooked. I gotta hear it !!
Can you send me a link to it somewhere?

thanks

Coming we knew but when??

Your right we knew it was going to surface as soon as the C6 came out but did you think it would be this soon?
