It's been awhile since I have posted or even got on the web site. Good to read all the posts and get up to date. Lets see while I was gone I.....worked hard, cleaned out my garage, did some yard work, got divorced....you know the regular things. She tried to take the Vette....wasn't having it. It's still sitting in the garage.
Had an interesting problem the other day. Tokk the car out for the annual "ITS SPRING!" drive. Had a weird scraping/clicking sound while driving. didnt happen in reverse. got faster when I went faster and slower when I went slower. Louder when I turned right and quieter wen I turned left. no change when I steped on te brakes. tore the wheels off 3 times looking for something. Nothing at all. Calipers good. brake lines not rubbing. nothing. Then finally took it down to the local tire store. They pointed out the problem right away. The stick on weights were slapping the calipers. there is only about 3/8" clearence from the calipers to the wheel and the zinc weights were smacking the caliper. tore those off and put the standard clip on weights and everything was fine. Love those easy fixes but not being able to find the problem right off was driving me nuts.
Well the good news is alot more cruises and car shows this summer. No more cancelations due to excessive whining!
BTW the new girl friend doesnt mind when her hair gets messed up when the T-tops are off. Life is good!
