Goodyears vs Firestones

non run flats

Just replaced OME Goodyears (31,000 miles), went with non run flats, Bridgestones Potenza S-03 Pole Positions, I have a different vette now. Quiet, smooth, sticky and a hot looking tire. Can not believe how the car runs and handles. I'm very happy with my choice. Just my 2 cents worth.

James I have run both the sz50 tires and the BFG KD tires on my '93. I used the car for autocross events as well as my daily driver. I found the Firestones to be a very sticky tire both in the rain and on the track. I can't say I noticed a big difference in the ride over the stock G.Y.'s, but that was before run flats. The BFG's on the other hand were much stiffer than the sz50's. I wound up buying an extra set of wheels and used the Firestones as my street tires and the BFG's as my track tires. I could really tell the difference when I swapped them. My ZO6 has the Goodyear F1 tires. They too are very sticky. After my first experience on the track with the new car, I'm pretty sure they're as good or better then the BFG's were after they were broken in. Hope this helps.

Tires

Just returned from 1200 mile trip to Florida (one way). I took a new 2003 Chrysler 300 M SPECIAL. The car had Michelin 245-45-ZR17 Pilot Sports. These are the loudest tires of any tires I have ridden on. I mean they drove us crazy. We had to turn up the radio just to keep the sound out of the car. The only good part, was that it kept me awake so I could straight thru (19 hours). I mean I would never recomend these tires to anyone !!!!!!!! Hope the Firestones are quieter than the Pilot Sports were.

Great post.

First, I would like to say that whatever I buy either for my cars or my house I;m going to buy the best products I can get for the money.
I wasn't happy with the Goodyears and we have a limited choice of run flat tires. So I choose the Michelin Pilot Sports which by the way are made in North America at a plant in Granton, Nova Scotia.

Second, I was stationed in France at SHAPE Hqs during my 2 years of the draft. And belive me we are alot better off that the French didn't join us or back us.

Third, If I remember correctly we also had some differances with Germany and Japan like WARS and I sure see an alful lot of there cars and other products in our country.

Last, Isn't it nice to be able to live in a country that you can say and spend your money as you like.
