Got a ????

The physics involved with the SLP unit allows more air directly shot into the throttle body. After a good cruise the front is completely cool to the touch and does get cooler air from deeper into the shroud area.

It's heavy duty steel and whistles like an F-15 at idle and wot. Far superior to cut lid for function and looks in my opinion. Some have cut slits into the shroud under each filter to suck the good air into the deal. After having both this made me very happy.

I may go with smooth intake hoses but fear that may be a bit air foilish.
I was going to go with the Claw also, what changed my mind was the first Corvette challenge I went to at Raceway Park, I saw a bunch of C4s similar to mine running the same time or a tick slower / faster with the Claw. I also noticed that the cars with the stock air boxes were only about 1/10th slower all else looking equal.

I hear you warren. But around town on the road it feels better. Maybe not a lot of difference at wot in a quarter.

tlong....Yes, I am lovin:D my LT4 and the exhaust made all the difference in the world. Now it sounds like a muscle car. Other than the 'Claw" the only other mod that it "really needs";) is the 3:90 or 4:10 gears. These things are just too high geared in IMHO.

I think you have D44, 3.45 in there stock. Going to a 3.90 wouldn't do much would it? 4.10s are prone to trouble with noise and vibration unless installed just right. And it costs large money too.

Doesn't that thing snatch you around nicely now? You have gone mad with power!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have never driven an LT4 with 4.10 rear gears so I don't know how much more oomph it would give you. Some I guess, but dayumm how do you hook up the tires? My ASR yells at me with 3.07 auto sometimes when I'm retogo.

Do you have the deadly resonance with the new pipes or do you care ? I love the way they sound.

BTW my ride came from Mesa, AZ. and was shipped from Phoenix. I was surprised it wasn't burnt to a crisp on the surface of the Sun.

Have fun

tlong....good to know about the gears and yes it already is scary quick! Resonance? A little but actually not bad at all. It sounds like a Vette should sound and I love it! The 6spd really allows for me to have fun w/ the power as well as the sound ( you know..like revvin' it a bit at a stoplight or dropping it a gear or two when I pass a contender). I bought my LT4 2 mos ago from Cn'V Corvettes in Tempe Az. All they sell are Vettes and they have one helluva operation there. Check out their website at cnv-corvettes.com. The car is immaculate and has only 21k on it. With the chrome ZR1 wheels...it looks GOOD!! It is hot as hell here and Black may not have been the wisest choice yet that is the color I wanted. The car is a BEAST! "Mad w/ power" Moi?
Good talkin' to ya....
Jeff

I'm running the CORSA exhaust on my LT4tified LT1 and it's sweet. Love the sound while being very nice while cruising. When I had the motor tweaked, the dyno showed 306 through the original exhaust. After the CORSA install, it jumped to 328. I'll take that.

I'm also using an open lid on my air box - you can see the whole K&N filter looking up at you.

As for gears, I'll stick with the 3.45's for now. The old Tuna Sport is my daily driver and a open road car - get's better mileage that way!

Tuna.... Did you cut your own or did you buy a pre-cut one? I'm really liking the sound of this "Claw" thing yet the cut box is far cheaper and the LSA in JEFNLSA is on me about (as she calls it) "unecessary spending" on the car. Bah Humbug!!!!!!!!!!
