He did indeed get a good deal. Offer him our congratulations.

If the car is a very original piece he should look into getting it judged for NCRS Bowtie award or Bloomoington Survivor award. This should be done before anything other than general clean up gets done.

This car could be valuable if it is very original.
 
I too have experienced this....my boss saw a picture of my Vette in my office. He says he "had" a new Vette once.

He goes on to tell me he bought a 74 big block convertible brand new off the dealer lot..something like 5 miles on it. He drives it for the season and as the oil embargo heats up and gas prices are going through the roof (all relative isn't it??) he drives the Vette into his garage and that was that.

I was thinking he was going to tell me he sold it right after that but I asked the stupid question.."what happened to it?". Oh...he says...it is still in my garage with 3200 miles. Okay...here is where the 'butt sweats' begin and I ask him "what will you take for it?". He says, never in your life.. I'm going to restore it with my son!!

So much for a nice juicy urban legend..
