This Corvette's not pinin'! It's bloody passed on! This Corvette is no more! She has ceased to be! She's expired and gone to meet her maker! She's a stiff! Bereft of life! She rests in peace!

If you hadn't nailed her to the dolly she'd be pushing up daisies! Her metabolic processes are now history! She's off the twig! She's kicked the bucket! She's shuffled off the mortal coil, run down the curtain and joined the bleedin' choir invisible!

THIS IS AN EX-CORVETTE!!

... I would pay that kind of money for that car with the parts he has. I would have liked to make a deal for the car and the frame he has. That is the frame I would like to put under a midyear. The cage rot is a nightmare due to the amount of glass parts that would need to be removed. My bet is the whole cage is junk. These cars are so much money to play with, sometimes I think I am out of my mind. But it looks like I am not alone.
I saw that body on e-Bay and followed the auction until it closed. As henny496 mentioned, the cost of many of the one-year-only parts can quickly add up especially for parts such as the exterior and interior window moldings. I searched for months until finding everything I needed (which was all of them!) and you seldom find complete sets. The ones you do find usually still need to be restored.

Being deeply into building a 63 coupe now we have learned quite a bit about the birdcage. We found three areas with rust (after the media blasting) but I have found sources for some parts, such as the drip-rails, and there are sources for some of the birdcage parts. Luckily all but one area of the birdcage itself was in great shape but we had one area where we couldn't find repo parts and I had a restoration shop reproduce them. I would have been very hesitant to start with a birdcage with as much rust as the one on e-Bay but, at a more reasonable price, it might have been a good deal just for the other hard to find parts.

Canadian '67 body

A man named Kevin in northern Ontario is offering a '67 Corvette coupe body for sale on the Corvette Forum parts bulletin board.

I'd sure like to forward his e-mails to one of you in Canada. I have many questions about driving across the U.S. border to buy a Corvette body. I'd like someone who lives in Canada to help me interpret this offering before I commit to anything.

Please e-mail me if you're willing to give advice. I don't want you to do anything but read e-mail messages we've exchanged and then answer some of my general questions about this deal.

Thanks,
