today i wanted to get some gas and work on setting idle and base timing but the engine quit and everything else lost power. the groung from the battery to groung was looking in good shape till i pulled on it to see if it was loose and it turned into a pile of powder and pieces of corroded wire. fixed it with replacement battery ground cable today so ill wait on gas till tomorrow. starter sounds better now too.
