HOPE

Its hard to sell something with no pics.

Nice very low mileage...... hope the car matches!

Post me if you are keeping up with this sale.

Its a private one as it appears.

Take care,
Stan

HMMM GOING DOWN?? Be happy dont worry!!!

Well im not sure prices are on the way down.As long as the new vettes continue to go up in price. And they will!
I dont feel anyone has to worry.
I just bought a fully optioned GS #963
for 30k.
The car has 7k on it.I feel fine about the price. To me its worth every penny.
The key to any cars value is Actually how rare the car is.I feel the GSs are as rare as they come. There not a sheep corvette thats for sure. What I mean here is they are RARE and stand OUT ANYWHERE you go.Sure you can buy you a 98 or 99 C-5 for around 30k if you look. But hey C-5s are NOT a rare breed thats for sure.
So all you GSs owners RELAX we will be fine.Enjoy your car.You have a VERY Rare and beautiful Corvette that Will always be special!!!!

Re: Your come back show you missed the point!

Jason,

You seem to miss the whole point. A private owner can ask anything they want for any car but its the sales prices that counts.

I can find ads in many places where people will run high and low prices. Most people who own cars like this want more than they are worth anyway. I am not saying they should not get what they ask, I am saying that when the money changes hands is the green that hits the palm is the only thing that counts.

Dealers control these these markets and they do not want to pay out any more than they have too. Its a business withe them. It pride to an owner! The majority car transactions take place through a dealer than through private sales. That is why they can set the standard and the reminder of the industry follows.

As I mentioned, The LT4 series along with the ZR1 and Callaway cars are all in the same boat. Checkout these car sales for trade in's and you will see that they are actually taking a greater beating than the GS/CE.

By the way, in the Atlanta Journal Classified section there is a 2002 Z06 with 1k mileage for sale through a dealer at 43k. That's cheap!

Like I said, look at the wholesale market to led the way in pricing, not the private sector.

Stan

Cheap??? I just saw one last week in Detroit for $39995........blk' 02......3kmiles.........and they are dropping as the snow approaches...............and the buyers dewindle........another today.........01' z06.....5k miles........39Flat:Roll :Roll :Roll :Roll :Roll :Roll

I just purchased a 1996 CE Coupe LT4 Silver with 88k on it from a dealer in Pasadena for $15,200. Was looking for a C5 manual but the nice used ones were all in the mid 30's. Looked at and drove a lot of cars and the one I purchased was tight and powerful with perfect body and paint. Entire driveline felt strong with no lags, clunking or other indicators of hard driving. Wheel bushings seem fine. Needed a clutch but I knew that when buying it.

Before completing purchase, talked to every Vette specialty shop in So Cal and feel pretty good about the price, even with the miles.

Not knowing its history, planned on ad completed a complete fluid change (including brake lines), filters, plugs, wires, etc. Took about two weekends to get all of the interior squeeks out (that GM plastic sure is a pain) and cleaned up the interior carpet with spray. The seats and panels were in good shape.

So, include the clutch and I got a great toy for around $17,000 with all maintenance current.

I just brought a LT4 blk/blk Z51. ~20k miles. all original
for the right price I'll let it go :-)

there not worth what people are asking. the internet prices are all inflated. They never sell at them ridiculous prices.

a local LT4 white/red sold for 15K with 80K miles. I didn't like white/red, so I brought blk/blk for a fair price.

there's another local guy selling a 15,000 mile LT4 for 4-5 months. he'll have it forever asking hi 20's
