Just had my rear wheel bearings replaced. That cured some of the rumble in the rear ( besides taking out the play in the rear wheels) Now I'm getting a grinding sound upon acceleration from the drivers side.(but not under normal acceleration) I'm thinking it's my halfshaft u-joints.I know they are ready for replacement soon but is there any other thing I should be looking out for...

Welcome To The Corvette Action Center astrophes!

Well, welcome and glad to see you come out in the open finally! :upthumbs

A couple of things must first be asked:
  • Was the noise there before you changed the bearings?
  • Were the bearings properly lubed (as they should have been, but you never know :eyerole)
  • Was everything properly toqued to spec upon reassembly?

It's certainly possible that one or more of your halfshaft u-joints is bad, but I'd check everything else beforehand. Unless of course, you feel more secure (as I would) in changing them now. Can't hurt! ;)
