Hand brake pawl and spring

I need to install the pawl and spring for the handbrake on my 62 Restomod.
I would appreciate any photos or diagrams of the correct oreintation of the how the spring and pawl are installed.
Also, are there any tips on installion so the spring doesn't pop out, or putting the pawl in the slots. Thanks

Photo below is a '63 handle, which is similar; the "tails" on the spring should push both pawls down against the notches in the shaft.

Thanks John Z. Using the information you provided - I think I have placed the spring in the proper position.

I will try to do an install in the next day or two.
