Is the mast replaceable in the Harada style antenna?

if so how? i took the motor out but there is one nut i unscrewed but there seems to be something else holding the mast to the motor

thanks

I have the kit, but i can not get the antenna apart when turning it on.

i removed the one little nut but so far i cant get it apart

I installed stereos for Audiovox years ago...we used the Harada exclusively...it actually has 2 nuts; a chrome outer nut and a brass inner nut that holds the antenna to the body....assuming your antenna is still on the car---remove both nuts and have someone turn on your radio and you can pull the old mast out....spray the nylon cord with wd-40, feed it into the tube as far as you can, and turn off the radio...you might need to twist the nylon cord several times til it catches...when its completely retracted screw on both nuts and you're done! Lube and clean it once a week and it will last for years :w

i lowered the antenna out of the car but it is still pluged in, i took off the black small nut but i did not see the other. where did you say it was located?

If you've got the antenna out you've removed both nuts...one threaded inside the other...you should be able to pull the mast out by hand....btw if the motors not running trash it and buy new .....feel free to e-mail me

What size are those 2 nuts?

When I look down on the top of my antenna, all I see is the top of the antenna mast and the black weather seals.

its done!!!!

the sleeve was frozen in the antenna, i sprayed it with oil and let it set over night, than with turning the antenna on and a slight side to side twist it came right out!
it works perfect!!!

thanks all

That's good matty...wipe it with a rag and spray it with wd, dirt and salt will crud it up ....thank God spring's comin cause i can't wait to take my top out :)
