Hey there, new to the forum... I have an 09, LS3 Vette with intermittent start issues. Have changed relays... still issues. When it starts, it cranks... no error codes. Temp does not appear to be an issue. If it does start, it runs fine, 5 or six times... hooked up to basic diags; no error codes. When it does NOT start; no spark, no fuel... then again cranks... eventually, wait a couple days, or few hours .. it starts. Can anyone help?

Items replaced or checked
New battery < 6 months ago
Fuel and crank Relays been replaced

Cheers,

Welcome to the Corvette Action Center.

Moving thread into the C6 Tech forum for greater exposure.

Thank you Rob... this is very frustrating

I'm not sure whether to start basics (check fuel sensors, injectors... clean/replace, etc...) suggestions of those with sim. experience are greatly appreciated!.... Cheers, Lilly

I know this may sound strange but the first thing I would check is if your battery is up to snuff......any lack in it can cause all kinds of weird problems. Have it load tested if you have any doubts......if you rule that out as a problem then we will have to dig deeper....welcome to the party also.....

09 LS3 intermittent start - cranks but no spark no fuel just started

Okay, battery tested Okay... additionally replaced fuel and A/C relays (35, 55)... started no issue. I shut it down, tried to start again, crank but no start. What's next? (please/thank you)

Cheers,

Do you have the Factory Service Manual for your car, "LS3 Newman"?

09 LS3 Intermittent start - cranks but no start & eventually starts

Hello all and Thank You for your suggestions!

All great tips! I caved and ended up taking it to GM ~ I'm posting what I had checked into along with GM's findings in hopes this can be used for future "Vetter's" ~ save you a few hundred $$$s paying for troubleshooting.

Symptoms: Intermittent start and always cranks, voltage (lacking) / when started, ran and drove fine, NO issues, no error codes, not lights, performs like new...or better!

Troubleshooting to get it to start intermittently: Reset Relays in fuse box/panel and car would start at random times
Battery: < 6 months old, load test = OK
Relays: Replaced all related to crank, fuel, etc...
Checked Spark, intermittent but plugs were also okay
Fuel: Delivery OK when it started but was intermittent/ Injectors and sensors appeared to be fine

Took it to GM last night, their findings as of this a.m.-

Cause: Bad fuse block
Resolution: Replace with new

Hoping after Tuesday, I'll be driving rest of the summer w/No More Issues before putting up for the winter!

Any good vette cruises over the weekend in Oregon???

Again Thank you!!!

"Bad Fuse Block" - Interesting! I wonder what caused the fuse block to go bad?

Hope the replacement fuse block takes care of you.
