I always enjoy reading about the various exhaust systems people are using. Has anyone with and 89 (or similar c4) installed the Borla mufflers on the stock factory y-pipe? How did it sound?

Thanks,

I have Borlas on my 85. I think it's similar. the cat is still on so it's a little quieter than some. IT sounds awesome! coming across a parking lot or down the street. however there is a pronounced resonance under 2000 rps so it's quite a bit louder in the cabin. (coupe) over about 2100 (70 and up) it gets quieter! Borlas have really distinctive sound when I first heard one I said "I gotta have it" hope this helps

ErnieN85:

Thanks for the feedback. The resonance concerns me. The wife and I might get tired of the cabin noise. Right now, the cabin is quite even with the top down. I would keep my cats too. Wisconsin tests emissions. I guess I want the deep sound and a quite cabin too.
