Has anyone ever replaced their head light switch.
Someone told me it needed replacement due to my instrument pannel lights not dimming. Shift light's out etc.

Is the switch wires soldered or is wire connectors used. How
difficult a job is it ??

knob replacement

The wire harness just snaps onto the switch. There are about 7 bladed terminal ends in the switch that the harness pops onto.

Other than obtaining access to the switch, the most difficult part is pulling the old shaft out as the new headlight switch does not come with the knob and shaft.

Oh, make 100% certain that you get an 84-89 VETTE switch. G.M. has been making this same basic switch since at least 1969. However, the C4 has an extra terminal that corresponds to the pop up headlight actuators.
