tires will cause it. with my 2.59 gears it takes till 2500 rpm before she starts pulling like a banshee. it's tricky to launch one of these cars with stock stalls and 2.59 gears but if you do it right it will move out of it's own way. proved that with many low low 1.8x 60' times last year. i think i can pull high 1.7's this year if i get the tires ordered and mounted along with a heated O2 sensor i'll find out while we got good air still. if not ce la ve cause the 388 is going in around June.

My car ripps out of the hole hard. Not sure why, but it does. His car just seems lazy. I am sure it could be do to the rebuild. Do you all think the changes made, increased his hp figure, and dropped torque?

Yeah I didn't notice to much with the ECM swap. It was nice though, to pull a whole shot with that "old" vette. I dont have the performance ratio. I think there was only two ratio's offered that year, the 307's and either 273's or 259's. We both run at the same RPM through various speeds. I dont think that is the issue. I will be totally honest, it doesn't want to get out of it's own way until 20 mph or so, where as to mine, when you romp the pedal, it goes sideways.

He has a throttle response problem, and he thinks the tires might be to grippy. I want to try to swap them and see if my car will turn them over.

Thanks to everyone for their help

I made another post, but does anyone know how to get that fricken Lock ring on the EGR tube? Do I have to use it, can I use anything else?

Most people wind up with a small (1") hose clamp. You can put the two tubes together and tighten the clamp around it. Stays together just fine.

Has he test driven the car with exhaust hooked up yet?

I'm wondering if that makes much difference.
