Headlight Activation Switch (bottom of dash)

Need to replace the headlight activation motor switch on the dashboard that flips the headlights around. It works but is a little squirelly... So tell me why are these little square switches so expensive....I am seeing prices from $75 to 129... Are these direct replacements? Do the new one look like the originals? I just don't understand how a simple switch costs so much...is there something else invloved to replacing this switch that I am not aware of...What gives??????? Who sells the be repro?

You could pull it apart and clean the contacts. I have done it in the past with good luck. You can get some electriconics lubricant and spray in it after. Good luck.

Already took it apart after I posted last night. Very simple switch, appears the cooper contacts have oxidation build up. I am an old Telephone Switch man who use to clean the contact on the old bar switch relays....so I can handle this one....I will let you know how I make out...
