I am trying to replace the bearings on one of my '79's highlight housing. I have been having a problem with "lazy eye" due to binding between the headlight door and the body. I can reach the screws which hold the inward bearing but the bearing on the outward side seems impossible to get to. You can't get to it thru the wheel well or from the bottom. Is there a trick to this?

Hey Vidar, Thanks for the reply. I had the grill off and the headlight up. The problem was in getting to the bolts that hold the pivot bearing on the back, outward side of the headlight lid. Seems like it would have had to of been installed before the fenders were attached!

I just went out in the garage to have a look on my 78', you are correct, the frame to bumber bracket is in the way. But I reached all six of the outer screws from above when I opened the hood. It would be easier with an extra joint on the forearm but it's possible.

Thanks, I'll give that a shot next time I work on it.
