I want to upgrade the factory headlight bulbs. One burned out last night (after I changed the bad gears on both sides) and I have to change it anyway. Timing is everything, but at least they both open and close now..:L

All I'm finding is old posts about headlight upgrades and bulbs. Is there any long term use info? Installation info? What to buy and what to avoid? I have looked at the Sylvania Silver star H6054 based on a very old thread, but their website says they only have a 150 hr life. Their Xtravision has an 850 hr life. Both are better vision then factory H4 Halogen. Mine are still the originals.

I don't want to rewire/cut/chop or rebuild the headlight system. Also old posts say use plastic headlights as the glass are heavy and cause bushing wear.

What are your experiences and recommendations ?

My car is an '89 C4.

Thanks
