Hello all,

Just in from afternoon of cruising. Had to miss the Vettes by the Shore show, but did get to see a few of the last vettes pull out onto hwy90 afterwards. Lots of Waves!

On way home it was getting dark and I went to cut on the headlights but the passenger one would not fully rotate.

Got home to inspect as it was getting dark. Noticed the silver retaining frame ring has come loose and is catching on the body of the housing.

Will I see a simple fix to this in the daylight hours? Or will this require removing the headlight and replacing some retaining spring or clip?

Thanks for your help

Will check it when its daylight tomorrow.
So, its a small screw or a few of em that hold that silver frame around the headlight???

Thanks for your help

Ok-

First attempt at repair of the passenger headlight retaining frame.

Inspection of frame showed that the small L bracket (flange thingy) that I assume there should be 4 of attached to the silver frame, was missing 1, and a 2nd had come loose but was still attached to the screw.

Hate it when I do not have the right tool for the job. Needed a very small 90degree screwdriver to reach the back left and right headlight hood screws. SO in the mean time I try to figure out how to re attach that L Bracket to the frame. (no welding rig here)
Didnt want to wait for JB weld to set so bought some metal use 2 part Epoxy. Said 1 hr complete set, so I let it sit for 2 hours.

Of course as Im installing it, it breaks again.

So looks like Im off to the garage tomorrow to get that spot welded back on.
But now I do know how to get into the headlights.

No longer a lazy eye'd vette,
Rain
