Hi, Could anyone tell me where the headlite relays and module are located. I changed my headlite switch, but the problem still exist. The headlites come up in parking lite mode and the motors got loud.

muddywaters, when did this problem start, and have electrical repairs been made
to the headlight door motors? I would recommend obtaining a wiring diagram for the door motors and start your diagnosis there. I see no mention of relays or modules in the headlight wiring diagram in the two manuals I have for your '88.

Problem just started, changed headlite switch, no cure. what does the headlite module control?

The 88 does not have any relays. IT has a switch, a module, and the two headlight motors (or actuators as they should be called).

If your problem is noise, then you may want to take off your actuators and lubricate the main gears.

The control module is in the left front fender well in front of the left front tire. It is about 4.5" x 4.5" with two sets of wire plugs going in and out of it. All it does is reverse signals for the lights to go up or down. It won't make them noisy.

If th actuators are trying to run on after you turn the lights on or off, (making a clicking/grinding noise)...then they stop after a few seconds...you have bad bushings in the motors. You can order a new set from mid america for about $5.

Otherwise, I need you to be more specific about your problem so I can point you in the right direction.

Thanks 69MYWAY for the explanation,my lites do run on after their turned on or off. I'll get on the bushings. Also this occurred at the same time the acuators got noisy , in parking lite position headlites come up but their not on, switch is brand new any ideas why that is occurring? Thanks again.
