i installed a blackwing air filter, a granatelli mafs, a smooth bellows and a corsa exhaust three months ago. it runs fine but i got these codes yesterday. dealer says put stock parts back on, granatelli says clean mafs with non-chlorinated brake cleaner, suspects oil from aftermarket air cleaner got mafs wires dirty, any suggestions, ideas? thanks rick

That could be an air leak. Additional air comes to the system making the PCM believe it is too lean. Check clamps and connection.

Well... since it (apparently) ran fine for 3 months, I think Granatelli may be onto something there. However, I think a safer and easier cleaner would be to substitute contact cleaner (the kind in a spray can with an extension nozzle), available from Radio Shack or any electronics supply house. FWIW, here is the official t/s procedure for those codes on an '04.

GL!

Vette747 is correct about the air leak. I've had two occasions where I start getting those codes (and a check engine light, too), and on both occasions, it was my Mass Air Flow sensor. It had come loose. I simply slipped it back in place, cleared the codes, and the problem was solved.
