I have a 78 Silver Anniversary and I have a problem with the steering column on it. while driving it the other day, the steering wheel started getting really loose on the column. I have since tore the column down to the bottom, to tighten the screws the book told me about, and I can't figure out what the mount attaches to. There's 4 screws at the base of this thing, but what they go into doesn't seem to hook up to anything. Does anyone have any clue about this? Am I better off to replace the column? At $425.00, I'd rather not if I don't have to. Does anyone have a detailed schematic or know where I can get one? Thanks in advance.

Michael :)

Oh, BTW, it's the Tilt / Telescopic Column (not sure if there was an option that year)

Thanks!!

Best I can do is check my 82 manual. Not sure if it has a blow up(I think it does) and whether it's the same. I'll get back to you tonight.

Thanks Carlo, I think it'll be the same as the 78.
