Please help me! I had my t-tops off today in the back of the Vette (with the covers on) when I was driving today, and when I went to put them back on, I noticed the one had been scratched.

Can somebody please help me? What can I do to fix this scratch? :(:(:( Please help asap. :(

Have you used this stuff before? Does it really work?

Please, if you have another other ideas/suggestions/products then please chime in. :( I want to do this as soon as possible, but most importantly, I want to do this right.

Thank you so much and please help me. :(

Stallion, do you have the factory t-top covers? If they're like mine, the back side of the snaps are exposed on the inside of the bag. That might be what scratched the tops. Go to Lowes/Home Depot/equivalent and you can find little green felt circles with a peel and stick backing. Use these to cover the back of the snaps where the exposed metal touches the tops. The little felt circles are made to stick to the bottoms of lamps and such to prevent scratching glass or marble coffee tables etc. Should only cost a buck or two. You could even buy plain felt without the sticky backing and super-glue it on. That might even hold better - that peel and stick backing doesn't always hold - it softens up and slips around sitting in the sun inside a hot car.

Let us know how that stuff Dave recommends works if you go that route.

Dave - does it really do what the web site claims?

You know, this LANGKA paint chip removal looks really promising. I even found my paint color code. It looks like a very "organized" product. Has anybody else used this?

You are right, Culprit, I should do this. It is probably the snap that caused this problem. This is deifnitely something I have to do.

I had gotten a suggestion yesterday that I should buffer the whole car with Meguiar's No. 7 compound, of course getting to the scratch. Would this work?

I would rather do the first recommended thing, the LANGKA process, but if buffing is the only thing that'll work, then I'll do it. I don't have a buffer either.

But, what do you think?

Thank you. :(

I would recommend taking your car to the body shop if you are going to use compund. Your car will look like one big swirl mark if it is not done correctly. It wont be cheap!
