I have some simple bolt on engine upgardes I'll be working on over the next 2 weeks and my question is simple:

For a 95 LT-1 (auto) completely stock:

HP-308(dyno reading), 0-60mph-????, 1/4 mile-????, Top Speed-????

I ask these seemingly simple questions because when asked previously- I was given a full variety of answers that ranged from the good, the bad & the ugly.
I'd like to have a baseline for comparison before & after the mods. Since I live in upsate NY I'm snowbound so I cant test myself right now.

Thanks,

Bob

Bob,

I have read various roadtests and the summary is:
0-60: 5.0s up to 5.88s (6 speed) and 5.5 s (auto, 3.07 rear axle)
1/4m: 13.6s up to 14.1s at 101 to 104 mph (6 speed)
and 14.1 at 98 mph (auto, 3.07 rear axle)
top speed: 156-163 mph

My personal experience with my 92LT1 completely stock C4 (auto, 3.07 rear axle) is that acceleration can not easily be measured by hand because the odometer is damped so strongly, that the actual speed is reached much before it is displayed (1 s delay or more). Thus, my 0-60 values are around 6.5 s and my 0-100 mph values are around 14.5s (which is roughly 1/4). The latter value is closer to the advertised value since the delay of the display is not so crucial at this speed and because the percentual error is smaller.

Let me know your values and good luck with the mods you plan!

Thanks!

I really appreciate your feedback & I'll keep you posted as the bolt ons go on & maybe the numbers come down. I'm bolting on an air ram system, Granatelli MAS, Air Foil (maybe upgrade the throttle body to a larger size), Flowmaster Catback system. I antiipate some HP & Torque upgrades from this combination.

Thanks again!

Bob-

I have the exact same car.

My 0-60 with the Vericom2000 is 5.25 average of 3 passes and my quarter is 13.5, average of 4 passes at Raceway Park, best ever was a 13.39 on 70 to 80 degree days.

I dont know the dyno HP, but with a 300 hp rating, I would guess no more than 280 RWHP, and thats an optomistic figure.

I do have abunch of simple mods (Check my webpage) that knocked off a tenth or 2.

WarrenS , great webpage, thanks for sharing .

Bob,

I have a 94' LT-1 Auto, but with the 2.59 rear gears. I Dyno'd it a couple of months ago before the car's first tune up. 110K miles on stock plugs and wires.

It dyno'd at 249R WHP - From what I undestand the autos have about 20% parasitic loss through the drivetrain, so that figure would bring it close to the stated 300 hp from the flywheel

BTW - I replaced the plugs and wires and my gas mileage went up to 23mpg avg.

I haven't run it at the track but think the e.t.s would be less than spectacular with the 2.59 gears

Thanks for everyones feedback. I really appreciate the input & very nicely done site Warren. I was gonna trade in my C4 this weekend for a 2000 C5 but just couldn't let go of my old faithful.

Thanks Again,
Bob

Upstate...

Thanks for the kind words about my site guys!!

I also was looking at C5s, the poor reseale value of my 95 held me back.

Where upstate Bob?
Scotia- It's a little suburb outside of Albany/Schenectady. The resale does make it tough. I just hit 50K with mine so it's not so bad yet.

Thanks Again,

Bob

Bob I also have the same car (w/3.07 "perf rear") and within the past 3 months did the **same** mods as you list, with the exceptions being that instead of a catback system I cut off the OEM muffs and replaced them with s/s Magnaflows, and instead of ram air I installed a 3-K&N Claw plenum (bought from SLP online). My boltless airfoil came from MidAmerica and my Granatelli "cold-air tuned" MAS from jdsperformance.com.

Am very happy with the car's resulting performance. Never did a before/after dyno but these mods do make a noticeable improvement.
