Help Please

sorry to revive this post but did the ecm fix the problem?

No the ecm did not fix the problem. After installing it the car still would not start. We had a check light plugged into an injector to see if it had power. After rechecking we new we had spark but no fuel in desparation we sprayed a little brake cleaner into the throttle body while cranking the engine and it coughed and briefly fired. We then tried to start it and it started right up but idled at 2K pulled the connector off the tps and the idle setted down to about 1200RPM. Put an OEM TPS on car and it ran fine. What was happening was the TPS was sending a flooded condition to the ecm and it was shutting off the injectors so the flooded condition could be cleared by cranking the engine until it started. When this happened the ecm resit itself and we had power to the injectors. A side note here the tps on the car was a parts store unit that cost me $20.00. This bargain unit that I had put on the car 9 months earlier cost me $500.00 by the time I bought an ecm I did not need and paid the mechanic for his time and the tow in to the shop.:soapbox
