this isn't on my corvette but on my trans am that has a 1990 or 91 speed density tpi system, so Im hoping someone can help me with the codes.

codes are 12x3 22x3 33x3 43x3 12x3

it basically flashes each of these codes three times and a book with codes I bought makes no sense such as 22 equal the mass airflow sensor which obviously my car doesn't have, or am I just scanning the computer completely wrong, my book also mentions that these codes dont flash like this but rather just once.

I hope that the vettes carry the same codes applicable to this ecm

Gm codes

From How to Tune & Modify Chevrolet fuel injection.

12) No tach to ECM
22) TPS voltage LOW
33) Mass air flow *or* MAP voltage to high
43) Knock sensor problem
12) No tach to ECM

So the code 12 isnt a problem..it's an observation.. We always take to mean NO CODES......

But if 12 is all you get.. then thats correct

33) A tps malfunction/or indicates a VAC leak...

code sets when...
Engine running
Manifold pressure greater than 8 inches of vac (11psi) with A/C off

or

With A/C on 5 inches of VAC (12.5psi)
Throttle less than 2%
Fix the TPS and you MIGHT kill two birds with 1 stone
For greater than 2 seconds

thanks, I appreciate the help, as for the knock sensor I used one from a 1990 corvette, is this compatible with my system or do I need one thats specific to my ecm #, and is high map voltage a result of low engine vacuum.

glad ya stay vig !!!!!!

hey vig

also are my engine sensor that were original 86-89 compatible with the 90-91 electronics, such as intake temp sensor, tps, iac, and O2

thanks again

Hmmmmmmm

As far as sensors go ...I'm gonna guess the following...If it fit's ( electrically ).. then it SHOULD be ok...
( Know I'm gonna get nailed on this )

But lets assume the following... If it aint broke don't re design it ...yet..

So 90 was still a L-98 for Corvette

I have to assume the fireturd... er ah BIRD
Was the illegitamit step child.... So I can see the resembalance in the parts lists.

Adjust the TPS first to see if that clears your code 33 remember it's a combo platter

TPS Voltage
Manifold VAC
and engine running

So also check the snorkle to make sure there isn't a crack in there somewhere.

How does the car run??????
