Hello everyone,
I picked up a 99 recently with Kirban installed and I find when running around town and the system is hot that getting into first can be tricky. In fact twice in one day it wasn't engaged properly and it popped out when I released the clutch - ouch!
I've been doing a ton of reading online and have actually been trying to find pictures and instructions for this system to no avail. I understand they can be adjusted (I'm hoping that's all it is) but I need pics or some kind of visual.
Thanks everybody!

Hey Jayman,

I know this isn't exactly the answer to your question. But I had a Hurst shifter in my 03. It was notchy when cold and popped out too. There were allen headed screws that were accessable with the boot removed. But after alot of adjusting and reading alot of posts here I ended up switching to a C6 shifter. I love it, my wife loves it too. She wouldn't hardly drive the thing with the Hurst in it. The shifts are alot smoother and I haven't missed a single shift despite my aggressive driving. Hope this helps and God Bless
Steve

I have a Kirban Qwik shifter that came w/99, uninstalled. I installed it and it is much better than the stock shifter. Wether it's better than the rest, I haven't a clue, Yes there are set screws when you expose the base of the shifter, It was easy to install, I get no popping out of gear..........

Okay, great!
Are those screws accessible without moving the console?
If I take the boot off in other words can I get to them?
Do you still have the instructions - what does adjusting the set crews do?

Thanks :thumb
