ad My 87 Coupe was working fine until this Saturday. When I start it cold the RPM's go up to 900-1000 for about a minute then go down to 600-700. It stays at this engine speed for the whole day, which is fine. This Saturday when I started it to go on a 200 mile+ trip, the engine started and quickly died. When I restarted it, the idle speed was 500 RPM's, went to 400 and died again. So I turned in the idle control screw located on the driver's side of the throttle body until the engine was at an 600-700 RPM idle. On sunday, Monday and today I had to do it again because the engine went down to 500 RPMs and then died. The spark plugs have less than a month (Bosch 4+), the wires are good, the fuel filter is 1 year old, the electrical system was checked and is OK. Where else can I check to find the problem? Thank you.
