:) Hi to all the forum members!

What an informative site .... probably the best on the net ....

I finally have gotten around to living my dream .... a C4 Vett! :D

I bought one in California and it is in transit to Australia at the moment.

Torch Red, 1986, 100 000mls, auto, Z51 package, 'STOCK STANDARD' .... did the whole carfax check etc ....

Can't tell you guys how much I'm looking forward to getting it .... I'll give it a major service and replace all fluids when it arrives plus any attention it needs ....

Good news is that my home state of Western Australia does not require me to convert the Vett to RHD. I'm allow edto licence it and drive it as a factory LHD .....

I'll post some pics on the C4 section when it arrives and when I finish with the 'makeover' .... for all the purists, I'll leave it stock as i want to simply drive it and enjoy it ....

Regards to all ....

Congratulations on your purchase! I think you'll enjoy the car very much. This is a great site, there are many knowledgeable people here who can help you, and you can use the search function to find loads of technical information going back several years.

Thanks for that much appreciated. There are some great articles and comments on this forum.

Thanks John .....

:welcome

Congrats on your first Vette!! My first Corvette was a C4 too - a 1994 Torch Red convertible.

Here's a link to the 1986 Model page from the Tech Center. Click

When you have a chance, post a thread in the New Member forum here so more of the CAC community will see your good news and have a chance to stop by and say hello.

Enjoy the C4 and the forums.

Congrats on the purchase, I'll bet you're on pins and needles waiting for it to arrive. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask, this is the best bunch of people on the net.

Darren,

Welcomed Aboard! That's great to have more Aussie's in our midst.

Don't forget to post those images when it gets there...:beer

Thanks all for the warm welcome .... Car left Cali on the 10th of Sept .... so it's about a week away ....

Tension is killing me ....

One thing about the C4 is that it has to be one of the best value Vett models at the moment on the market ....

I will post pics when it arrives for you guys ....

Regards to all

Darren.

Welcome!

I few days after it arrives , don't be surprised if your facial muscles feel tired or sore. Don't worry about it though mate! It is just from the Corvette grin, a chronic but not terminal condition known to afflict first time Vette owners.:D

Welcome to the :CAC

Thanks for that .... the shipping company has told me about 12 - 14 days till it arrives .....

I'll have to drink decafe coffee as I'm stressing out with the wait !

Decaf? Ewww!!

Welcome to the CAC, Darren! Excellent signature picture, by the way!!

Thanks for that Mac .... and thanks for your compliment ....

Cheers

Darren

It's very nice to know there is some down under who Really love Vettes. Welcome to the forum. Be sure to wave at other Vette owners when you drive yours. I did not realize other Vette owners were waving at me when I bought mine. Its like buying into a whole new life style, ENJOY

Thanks for the hello ....

My Vett has landed in the Port of Melbourne on Thursday.... according to my agent it just needs custom, quarentine approvals then it will be freighted to me over in Western Australia.

Timeframe is thursday - friday of next week for delivery.

I am now officially going out of my mind waiting .... it's 2 and a half months since purchase!!!!!!!!!

Followed the link to your 1989 Charcoal/ black Vett .... that is a 'SWEET' Vett .... congrats!

Is MAD MAX and THE ROAD WARRIOR a big deal down there still? Personally I love those movies. Do you ever see a ford falcon XB GT around down ther? If so how much are they, would like to fix one up. Any other cool cars down there that we don't know about? Any pics?

Congrats on the C4 is it an early 86 or late 86?(iron heads or aluminium)
