Unless your present cats are a source of significant flow restriction, I would anticipate little performance gain; maybe a few hp on the dyno but not much felt on the seat of your pants.
Most will not change the exhaust sound much if at all.
Most comparisons I've seen are a stock setup vs high flow exhuast including the high flow cat plus high flow exhaust system. I've only seen one dyno graph of a Random Technologies high flow cat vs stock cat on a 300Z Turbo, and it gained around 8-10 hp/tq., but I do not know if that was due just to the cat change, the conditions of his stock cats (were they plugged or restrictive), with additional tuning on the dyno, or if it would be at all meaningful to our corvettes as I do not know the 300Z design.
I've seen most around $150/ea, not sure if its worth it.
