Yeah, the main prop rod bracket is simply held on by two bolts at the hood----that's the way to disconnect the prop rod when putting in the two smaller struts. It's REAL easy to simply unbolt the bracket and take out the rod as the two bracket bolts are very accessible. Simply hold up the hood with your left hand (best to have someone else help, but you can do it yourself), and slip on one of the two struts with your right. One strut will hold up th hood enough for your to re-bolt the bracket with the rod. Also, the lower part of the main rod comes easily off once the bracket at the top is unbolted.
