Come to the Open House and you can see for yourself :w :beer

Yeah I wish I could , I would love to meet you guys and visit the Callaway plant.

I have 1 major obstruction, THE MISSES.

But I will arrange flight schedule and money tags.

Should I fly into New York international ?

take Greyhound ?
rent a car ?
or can someone pick me up and hitch me to CT ?

motel costs ? I preferr comfort, no Hilton please.
dinner costs ? Ill take the roadkill skewers to save in expenses :D

let me know, what travelplans have you guys ?

John , I had no doubts in Chris being correct :chuckle

can you make a picture as you are a regular visitor of the Callaway Plant.

Probably I am not crossing the pond in the next few years to see it for myself

I have a twelve foot long row boat!
Maybe I can come over and pick you up!
:D

I am driving up from home - It might be quicker for you to fly in to NY and rent a car (or maybe ride up with Callaway4Fun :confused )

If you flew in to Dulles (IAD), I would gladly give you a lift. I offered to give Magic Dragon (Turbo Joe) a lift from VA to CT and the more, the merrier :w

I have stayed at the Sleep Inn, an exit up from the shop (and walking distance to Flanders - Yum!!! ) They are clean and reasonably priced (about 50-70 bucks/night).

Dinner costs depend. Road Kill is in WVA and KY, not New England :crazyGet a lobster roll while there, you will NOT regret it! :m

Do we have a date set for the Open House?

If people are going to buy plane tickets (myself included) we need to know.

:cool

I'd be happy to arrange something for someone if they need a ride.

I'll only have one seat available if I take my Callaway unless you want to sit in fetal position under the hatch!

I will check up on flight costs to NY and Dulles.
The price of 70 bucks a night sounds good,

I will skip the lobster a I am allergic to fish.
There is some Texan blood flowing in me as I am addicted to BBQ beef.

altough date is not set , maybe you already know a sort of program ?
will it be a 1 day plant or a 2 days visit.

IN CT, there is lots to see.

NY is about an hour southwest and if you want to take in a show or gamble, you could check out the casinos. Heck, maybe Big John can help with some ideas on that, once we nail down the date :cool

The last time we all got together at the Old Lyme shop, we were there for the whole day. Breaking away for dinner, I suppose you could get a steak, but I am not too sure on the BBQ.

...beef and pork are best prepared in the southern states, or of course in Texas :cool Seafood is best from the coast. I learned, never order fish in Nebraska, it just isn't fresh ;LOL

I do hope you make something like this and understand what an investment it would be to fly over :w

I got ya , am hoping to get a chance meeting you guys finally.

Who made up his mind, agenda and wallet already for the Open House Meeting ?

I spoke w/ Callaway Cars today and it is looking more like April for all this to come together. The goal is to provide at least ONE MONTH's of notice :w

What are some things you would like to see at the shop or in the area ;help

The closer it comes to May the chance of me coming over gets smaller.

We are expecting delivery from White Stork Express begin May :cool

But I have no doubts in that there will be another open house next year.

...as clean as the shops and assembly areas are, have you considered delivery in Old Lyme?? ;LOL

Now that would make the trip memorable :W

I'd rather take delivery from the Callaway Plant instead :D

( not to get too far off-topic but the daughter is made in Disney :chuckle
but born in Holland. )

I've been on a tour of their plant and it's all worth seeing.

I'd also like to have them talk about how they identify where more power can be gained from an engine, in other words how they make decisions regarding what upgrades to offer. Of course a lot of it might be proprietary but I'd be interested in hearing anything they can discuss. Maybe too what they might see for the future.

Jeroen, just wanted to give you and the rest of the group an update on this.

The date of Saturday, April 12, 2008 has been proposed. Hope to hear back on this in the next few days.

If that date does not work out, it might be held in early June.

We want to give at least one month of notice for this.

In the meantime, is there anything else you thought of, that you might like to see or do while here???

Early June would be interesting. I'm actually taking a trip with my family of Corvettes in the NE and we have a visit penciled in for Old Lyme in early June.:)

Jim, when in June will you be in NE?

Still gunning for the date in April, if it does become June, maybe your suggestion will work its way in :beer
