Can anyone direct me to the instruction page on how to post pics? Or mabe jsut jot down the how to's.

Thanks

As per the lovely Jane Ann (XLR8):

open the Post Reply window, then scroll down until you see "Manage attachments". When you click on that it will open a window where you can browse and upload a photo from your computer. Click submit and this will place a thumbnail link of your photo attachment in your post.

The next step is to click on your thumbnail image, and when it opens the photo in a new window, highlight and "Copy" the address in the address bar. Go back to the window containing your post, and click on "Edit" at the lower right hand corner of your post.

This will open your post back up for editing the text or adding images, etc. Just over the text area, you'll notice a small button that looks like a mountain with a yellow sky and the sun over it. Click that button and it will open a smaller window that should have "http" in the address bar. Place your cursor over it, right click and select paste. Be certain that only one "http" is in your address. Sometimes people end up with two. Click "OK" and this will place a line in your text box which looks similar to this...
[ img ] h t t p// blahblahCAC.com/ blahblah [ / img ]

Click Save (or save changes... I can't recall which it says) and YOU'RE THERE!

as per me - if it is your own picture it has to be on a web picture hosting site, I use Photobucket but there are plenty of free hosting sites to choose from

Thanks Pinky. It worked for one Pic but not another. The pic that did not work brought up a message that the file has exceeded the max allowable size. What would I do for that.

Thanks in advance

Now you're getting to the edge of my technical abilities! (I use Photoshop to resize pictures)

I'll take a stab at answering my own questions before some poor starving comedian here chimes in:

"Try uploading a smaller size file"

BoeingMan-
Jane Ann has done a great job with some new sticky threads in the Help and Feedback section.

It sounds like what you need is some resizing software to shrink the pics that you want to upload.

Try this thread for a start:

Or you could try some other software that I often use, by Microsoft. See this post.

Very good Pinky and Matt!!

Actually I just completed a couple of self-help threads in the Site Help and Feedback Forum this week.

To Resize photos take a look at this thread here.

To upload photos to your post take a look at this thread here.

Check out the "Site Help and Feedback" forum on the main page. Here are two helpful posts from that forum. I personally use "Photobucket" to handle pic posting and resizing: http://photobucket.com/.

And Pinky... take a look at the link for uploading. Thanks to a tip from Andre I was able to eliminate a couple of steps and make it simpler. You done good!!

All great stuff. Thanks.

Have never posted any pics of anything. It's time I did. I'll try to keep it clean :D
