Rebuilding my heater box and replacing the core. The Instruction sheet that came with The "Doc Rebuild Heater Rebuil kit" Shows two thick heavy Black Gaskets that are shown on the Engine compartment side. There is also another thinner Gray gasket that goes inside on the heater box inside the car.

The Doc Rebuild Instruction sheet says tha some years use 2 heavy black gaskets as per the above on the motor side and some only one. The 65 AIM shows 2 also .

Now here's the rub ..I did a test fit on the bench and it is very hard to try and put the motor cover on the heater box. Infact I was afriad to force it on .

Wht should I do here...??? Use 1 gasket or 2 on the motor side??

What did they do at the factory from 63 thru 67 1 or 2 gaskets???..John Z..
Or Bill B....Answer Please

Just use one on the engine side, and don't torque the nuts up too tight - you can crack the blower case if you do.

with what you are already spending on this project, whats another $200 one way or the other? After all, it's only money, right? (especially when it's not MY money!!) ;LOL

The real question is, "Which will be first, Mark, body drop or wallet drop?" ;LOL

Well Barry,
Looks like the end of this month or the 1st weekend in June. And then still alot of little stuff to do.

Might be Wallet drop first Bob......I guess I'll have to raise the prices at my Lemonade Stand from $.50 to $.75 and add another 8 year old to boost sales......:L

if you need people to help out when your ready with the lifting and lowering of the body back onto the chassis let me know, i'll take a cruise up if available and give you a hand. I probably can't help with too many things other than just get in the way but manual lifting I can help out with!
And I work cheap since I don't drink so you can keep my share of the beers for yourself........I'll work for Pepsi or Gatorade though ;LOL

BTW, speaking of Wallet drops.......you may have heard mentioned on a few threads that I've been working on QVC. I wasn't on this morning but was watching it and they were selling a wax product called Final Detail. It's a spray wax similar to Meguair's Quick Detailer that they sell a lot of. The car they brought on the set to demo the wax was a new $250,000 Ferrari. After showing the product they were joking about the car and mentioned "yes, you can get this car on our E-Z pay system - only 50,000 E-Z payments of $............ Now THAT is a wallet drop! ;LOL
Actually, I meet the owner of this wax company a lot when I'm at the studio's and I'm going to see if maybe I can get him to use Baby during one of the on-air presentations on the wax after she gets out of the paint shop. It would be awesome to see my car on TV! :)
Over the winter he gave me a bottle of the wax and everytime I see him he asks if I need more yet. I haven't even had a chance to try it but I will after the car gets done.

Thanks Barry,
None of us will be lifting that body..It is a complete body with everything still on it. So it is heavy..!!! Rob has an eletric whinch mounted to a Beam in the ceiling that he uses to lift the bodies on and off at his shop.

Some people said there going to drive in for the frackus...but it shouldn't take that long. We'll have some sandwiches and maybe a few beers for afterwards...and a Photo opp. It will probably turn into a BS session after the drop. If you would like to come down ..you are welcome too. I know a few forum guys in the area said they are going to stop by.

Bill B From Cheasapeak Vir. Is driving in for the week end and will attend. Also John Lolli and Pat (Patsnitrovette) and a few others. Watch the forum and I'll post the date when it is closer to stone.
