I'm looking at a '72 LT1 that supposedly came with A/C, but owner has no documentation to prove it. Is there any way to tell for sure that it came with A/C originally from the factory without docs? It does have the lower 5600 RPM redline tach, so that's one sign that it is original right? What else can I check?

i was looking on the site and if it has a original altinator is should have this part number 1100544: All with air conditioning. for 72. also see if it has the a/c ducts i belive a/c has extra ducts in the middle above the guages. and usually if it doenst have ac there will not have a a/c position on the hvac controls. and check the block with the vin to see if its matching numbers too. thats all i can think of.

Thanks for the info. I'll check on all these. I know the alternator is not correct. The build sheet is mostly disintegrated. Just bits and pieces are left, but tough to tell.

How much value does original A/C add to an LT1? What are the going prices for an LT1 convertible?

Should have the 5600 rpm tach though, correct? If it came originally with A/C.
