I'm gonna jump on the "so what" bandwagon. Myself, I'm unaware of any car, Corvette or otherwise, that doens't drop like a stone. Difference is, Corvette's come back. I'm tracking prices of 82s for future purchase and it amazes me that a car that just a few years ago was available for well under 10k for the most pristine low miles model, is now pushing the threshold of 20k. Note that is for a car barely over 20 years old. Hmmmm, what other 82 vehicles are approaching their original sticker prices?
And I seriously doubt that anyone who buys a relatively new vehicle does so with the illusion of making money. If they do, then they've obviously visited the lobotomy bar one time too many. Myself, I had a 71 and didn't make a dime off of it when I sold it. Considering total time and repairs/upgrades, I lost a little. But I enjoyed the hell out of it and don't give a rats behind about the little bit I may have lost.
If someone out there does find a car that is 1-8 years old that is guaranteed to make money, could you please notify me asap:eyerole.
