Hi all -

I've been pretty absent these past few months.
Ive decided to sell the 81.....
I cant dedicate the time and energy to it right now.
I love driving these cars - cant stand it when they arent running.
Anyhow the 81 is for sale.....pretty cheap ....let me know if anyone in the GA area is interested. Im gonna ask $9000 to hellp sell it quick.

On a brighter note -
I purchase a 2003 Quicksilver exterior / Black interior Z06 ...3 days ago.
What a car ! :D BIG HUGE SMILE !

So Ill be hangin at the Z06 forum....but will definitely stop in here now and again.

This has turned into a heck of a site in the past couple years - keep it up !

Hope to see you all at some future Corvette events !

Kevin

Congratulations on your new ZO6!!! That sure takes the sting out of selling your '81! Be sure to stick around here...there's lots of folks with ZO6's!

Elaine

It's always in the back of my mind (selling), but I just can't seem to part with the C3 style. Plus, what would I do with all the L81 stuff I've gotten from Bud!! ;shrug Like mentioned... a Z06 would certainly ease the pain. :beer

Thanks Diva - :)

81Chris -

I hear ya -

Ive got lots of 81 parts....

I guess they will end up on ebay or something....

I love the C3 body style the best.
The C5 certainly has grown on me though. :D

Congrats ksems!

...on the Z06! What a way to trade up!!!!
Don't be a stranger, come back often and tell us about the differences between the C3 and C5 that you are enjoying.

Jeez Kevin, nice upgrade!!! How about posting a list of the parts you've got for sale here first before you enter the eBay world? Sorry to lose one of the founding members of the old L81 Registry but glad you will still be around in the C5 world.

Take care................ Nut

Saw your thread and thought I would try to be one of the first to welcome you to the world of the Z06.....
I felt the same about trading in my C4 for my 02 Z06, but man I'll tell you what, although not as graceful looking as the C3, the sheer power and knife edge handling of the Z06 does help to "ease the pain" :Steer

So welcome to the Z06 side of the Corvette world, and remember these cars are still Corvettes so don't forget to wave.

Stan.... if I ever stop paying college tuition for my two "adults" I might be able to upgrade myself (maybe the 60th Anniversary model? :D ) You guys enjoy, until then I'll still be puttering around in my carburated C3 with the butter knife handling package.

LAter........... Nut

Hey Kevin...congratulations on your Z06 I'm sure that you will enjoy it a bunch. Sorry to see that your selling the 81 but I certainly understand. I am planning on a C5 some day myself, I'll wrestle with the 81 issue (keep or sell) when I come to that bridge.

GOOD LUCK WITH THE NEW CAR YOUR GOING TO LOVE IT

I sure hope you dont turn into one of those snooty C5 guys and start driving with your nose up in the air

remember where you came from !

sold the car yesterday for $9000.....

I went and had the emissions test done and the car passed after installing a new choke and EGR valve....:D....

gives me peice of mind to sell an emissions passing vehicle as well.

Anyhow, I think the new owner will take very good care of the car.
Hopefully he finds his way to this site ( meant to mention it but forgot )

at some point I will make a list of parts I have that will eventually make it to ebay.....

off the top of my head :

extra ECM computer ( for automatic )
test pipe
couple peices of new carpet
a couple lenses for the shifter plate area ( new )
original radiator ( still good - mistakenly thought it was overheating - turned out not to be the reason )

original AC compressor - ( needs rebuild )

original dealer brochure

september 1980 issue of VetteVues magazine...highlighting the upcoming 1981 Corvette....

more to come later,.....

Kevin
