I could use some advice

I finally got all my finances and goals strait and am about to start building a D.I.Y garage so ILL be relieing on you gentelmans advise as I know zip about building GARAGES
or hiring sub contractors and getting permits,inspections ETC.
NOW I KNOW, ILL BE IN FOR A BUNCH OF B.S. and DELAYS so I could REALLY use some HELPFULL ADVICE and a STEP BYE STEP game plan!
I had a set of BLUEPRINTS drawn up and certified and have asked around and gotten several known relieable sub-contractors names and numbers from guys who have builtthier own garages, thats where IM at NOW,
first question? I got a building permit application and it states I need a soil test and survey which do I need first and are there any things I need to know?????
any lists of steps, or advice is welcome from you gentelman iin the bussiness of building garages/houses ETC.

The site survey is so that you verify that your building on your property and within its boundrys and to also document just where the building is on your site. You might have a 10' setback rule? Soil test is to prove that your not building on fill or soft ground.....Any pro site engineer can do both for you. Most lenders require this info too

this thread,was bad for my bank ballance, I called on that lift above and asked about a deal, well...........I purchased the lift WITH the upgraded arms for $3800, that listed for $4800, and the new garage is not built yet??? so it will sit in the old garage taking up space untill I can install it in the new garage ! gee I wish all my problems were only like that!
