I concur.....I have posted often on brand X . . .after a few months you get the feeling that there is a clique and you are second class unless you are part of that clique. . . . I am here for fun . . .I do have something to contribute from time to time . . . when I expressed myself on brand X someone was always challenging . . . . I see more P I _ _ I N G matches and it has lost its appeal. I hope you are correct that this one does not emulate brand X

Their are other Corvette message boards? ;)

Precisely JonM. There really aren't any other forums. While I was in the shopping process (a very fun time) for my Vette, I visited a lot of forums and only became a member of :CAC

Keep up the good work!!!! :D

Well, your going to see me around here much more in the future!!:pat :)

Hi Slickman,

I agree with you as well. Nice to see you here on this board again. If it wasn't for this board I would have never ended up with the 78! Your friend Isaac :D

Its that same old story over there. The only thing that has changed is the post count thing. If you did not have about 5,000 posts you werent worth talking to. There is clique thing going on over there and the mods are tyrants.

I agree with you 100% Many times someone will say something to try and help a fellow member and if your statment is a little off, they jump all over you. Its like they try and go out of their way to make you feel like and ass..

:upthumbs YES YES...that is exactly what goes on over on brand X. I am a first time Vette owner but I have been around them since they started ( I am 66). I also have some professional knowledge in certain non-automotive areas too. I have come to the conclusion that there is not much fellowship . . . some with the brass who have 10,000 posts . . . so their system encourages a lot of posting so yu can get more stars ..... then you can be someone special .
so much :r

I want to gain as much knowledge as I can and make friends too.

I hope I can do that here..:v :w

Where is your Avatar Slickman? Thanks for your help with reducing the picture size.

SLICKMAN,

Love that paint job on the Vette'. :upthumbs

I just read that thread over there. What's with the "senior member" and "elite member" titles there? With titles like those, how could cliques not form? And I see that someone closed the thread. I guess they couldn't stand public criticism and wanted it to be private. It really wasn't even criticism; it was more of a suggestion.

Don't worry, that would never happen here. We have too strong of leadership and membership to have something like that happen. :beer

One of the reasons I like this forum is its not caught up in BS.

I came over here as part of the mass exodus from that site. We called ourselves the "refugees". 'theblackvette' led the charge. I never regretted jumping ship. What makes this site so much more enjoyable are the administrators and moderators. They are down to earth, helpful and professional. The folks that frequent this site are much friendlier as well; in part, I'm sure, due to the atmosphere created by the moderators. Three cheers for the CAC!

Yea, and that thread is one that they did not delete I started a tread like that in their C5 Gen area and some members started to agree and before you know it, the thread was not closed, they removed it!!

Yep, your right...

Thanks for the compliment on the paint job. I just completed the stripes and about 3 weeks ago I had the entire car sanded down to remove the orange peel and buffed out. Came out great.. The price was GREAT too!!! Only cost me $200!!!
