I was driving the other day with my son in his 93 and all of a sudden we see oil seeping ( we think ) from the valve cover gasket. So we change the gasket and it did not correct the problem. What is happening is the oil is being pushed out of the dipstick!

The breather tube fron the valve cover to the throttle body is also transporting oil into the intake manifold.

The engine seems to be starting differently and not performing as it was. This is probably due to oil being ingested into the combustion chambers.

Please help!!!!! :( :confused

Some things to check, how full is the oil? if over full where did it come from? Gas in the oil or coolant. if it's not over full then plugged drain back from the head? next thing on the list compression test. if the rings have gone bad, you will have lots of blowby which will pressurize the crancase and maybe push a lot of oil into the breather system.

Make sure that the PCV valve is not blocked. Also make sure its hose and nipple is not crimped or blocked.

Only two things I know of will do this. If the PCV system if working, it is pressure from ring blow by. Check the PCV valve and hose, then do a compression check. If you do have that much blow-by, your perfromance is going to start suffering.

Thanks to all of you that responded. The problem has been thankfully resolved.

Thanks to the expertise and efforts of Ahdreh Alito the owner of Insty-Tune here in Tampa, he determined that the "O" ring inside the dipstick had failed. When this seal is compromised, the crankcase venting system runs amuck.

The dipstick was replaced and the oil that was being driven out of it and also through the PCV valve into the trottle body was cleaned out along with the cleaning of the sparkplugs and the car runs great with NO oil issues.

Thanks Andreh...your the best!
