Rather than vent I'll just get to the point. Took corvette in to have clutch replaced after it went out last September. Took it to dealership and had it replaced( clutch, resivior, clutch pedal assembly,ect...) Got corvette back in November. Since then I have put a little over 2300 miles on the clutch. Clutch started chattering and neutral safety switch went out. Took corvette in to dealer for warranty work. Dealer told me clutch needs replacing again.(Me) Well that sucks but at least it's under warranty ( 12 month or 12000 miles). (Dealer)Nope...we don't cover clutches. That's a wear and tear item. (Me)Warranty covers all but engine components, gm shocks, electrical, sheet metal, and ignition wires. (Dealer)I'll have to get with my manager and call you back.--- Anyone out there got any advice??? And no, I do not drive it hard. Never done a burn out, just cruising. Thanks for any advice.

They may not cover clutches but they need to cover their work!
I would be surprised if the clutch it self was bad.
Probably a flywheel surface issue

Was the flywheel replaced or just the clutch disk. OEM was a dual mass flywheel which has lube in it. If it wasn't replaced (they are not available need to replace with standard flywheel/clutch) you could have lube leaking on the clutch surface. Also on the ZF trans the pilot bushing is very fussy. I made the mistake of putting grease on the input shaft to brass pilot bushing surface. The grease burns, quickly wears the bushing and causes problem.

Looks like the dealership is willing to take the majority of the cost (if not the whole cost) to replace the clutch again. We're thinking it's the flywheel. Dealership tried to resurface it and we're thinking it knocked it out of balance or made the surface uneven. I've found the replacement from centerforce (flywheel, clutch, everything...) for 800 bucks. Now I just have to wait till tomorrow to get absolute confirmation from the dealership. This all started with the safety switch on the clutch pedal going out after they replaced it. My, how things can roll downhill.

I hope that you get it fixed to your satisfaction.

Time to start saving my pennies...again. Dealership pulled out of covering any of it. Is what it is and a lesson learned. Like always, thanks for all your feedback.
