I removed these parts from the bottom of the door. I think it is a guide stop but would like some info on how to replace it and where to get one. My FSM also says I need a tool J22050 for this job does anyone know what that is and if it is available at a parts store?;shrug">

Well the first one is part of the guide stop at the rear of the door glass, the rubber bumper goes in the bottom of the door about mid-way for the glass to rest on when the window is down, and the last one is the guide at the front of the glass!!I just bought one of them from Chevrolet for my 94 I think it was $22.00 and some change!! The first is piece I believe is broken off the horizontal track on the glass,But I would have to look in my C4 Parts manual!!!I don't know of it is still available from GM or not!!But if the front guide had been replaced about the time it started screwing up,It would not have disintegrated!!:D As far as the tool,I have no Idea!!! But I must have it because I've had Dozens apart!!;shrug I'll dig the book out, which side is it?:upthumbs

It is the drivers side window. I see the guide stop in my FSM now. I was confused because I thought the figure was the left side window but it was the right side window. I still do not see where the rubber part goes and in what position. Junk it looks like I will have to remove the Panel that is held in with sheet metal screws to get at the guide stop. What nasty gremlins are waiting to jump out at me when I do that?:eyerole:boogie

John, that is actually part of the window regulator!! You'll need a new one!!That part was on the channel of the glass on earlier ones!!Sorry!! The rubber goes in the regulator at the bottom on a bracket built on the regulator!! It's not to bad of a job if you pay attention and go slow, you should be able to keep all your fingers!!!:chuckle :upthumbs
PS They only show the Rt in the GM book! Lt hand Reg is pt #22063225

Nope,I'm saying that the regulator is broken!!The rubber will go right in the reg in the car,but what I'm saying is that first piece in your photo(Left side of photo!!) is broken off the regulator at the end of channel that bolts to the window,at the end of pink arrow!! # 62 in the diagram is the front window guide!!(Lt Side/GM pt #10167083) Rt side in your Photo!!Circled in Green on the diagram I posted !! :upthumbs

Oh well Like they say it's only money. I don't know what the reg does but right now the window goes up and down just fine, the problem is it goes to far without the stop blocks. My next step is to disassemble the window from the door and look everything over and then order what I need. Does anybody know off a place that carries these parts.:hb

The regulator raises the window up and down and aligns the window with the opening!! I'll take a look see around here I may have one that is good with a bad motor and you can swap out your motor and install it in your door!!:upthumbs

Removing the Accessory mounting plate

How do I remove the door handle rod and the door lock rod.">

My FSM is getting scary and I am not sure if I need to drill out the door handle rivets or not.

I do not see how that would remove the door lock rod from the actuator lever that is riveted on the Accessory plate.

Stay with me and I will get this thing apart.:confused:confused;help;help;squint:

John if you pull the handle and look through the small opening there is a metal clip with a locking tab that you can pry away from the handle and slide it off and the rod will come off!! Before you reinstall panel put the clip back on the handle and the rod pops in!!:upthumbs If you want I'll take my 94 apart and take photos so you can see what I'm talking about!! But I will have to do it later tonight!!:cool

PS There both kinda a PAIN in the Wazoo!! And if you want to PM me your Phone # I can call you on My Toll Free # and I can Walk you through it!!

Thanks for the offer to take your door apart. Let me see if I can remove the handle clip first. I am taking my time because I usually jump right into something and get in trouble. What bothers me the most is when I finish a job and have half a quart jar with parts still in it.:boogie

OK I have the door handle clip off. The only thing left is the door lock rod. I am guessing that the clip for that one is up high in the door where the rod attaches to the door lock and handle. All this just to see what parts I need to get to fix the window. Then I will take the regulator out. Do I need to remove the window before I take the regulator out? Junk I want to thank you for all the help you have been to me so far. I only wish I lived close enough to drop a case of something cold and satisfying at you back door.:beer

Yes the window needs to come out!! The clip on the latch is the same type as the handle! Don't forget to put it back on!!! Your kinda blind in there, but with the window out you will be able to barely see it and can slide it off with a long Screw driver!! With the aluminum panel out you will able to slide it back on!!Make sure the little half moon on the tab locks in the little hole,or over time it will slide off and the rod will fall off! When you go to put it back together, the rod will just pop back in and lock!!:upthumbs PS Take note as to witch way the clip is on,if you get it backward the rod won't go back in and lock!!

John, I just happened to THINK,and thats rare!!;LOL;LOL;LOLSome of them on the latch had a plastic or metal clip that the rod went through and then it clipped on the rod,I don't remember what years!!:upthumbs

I have was able to remove the window without removing the lock rod. So her is what I found.

John is that at the front of the door glass? If so that is GM part Current #10243037 (was part # 10167083 as been superseded!!) on the diagram I posted above it's # 62 with a Green circle around it!! The rubber bumper go's in the door bottom in a slot about 6-8 inches forward of the front bottom regulator bolt in the door!!(I told you wrong earlier in a post that it went on a bracket on the regulator!!) Part # 10243037 is still available from Chevrolet!! The cost was $14.28 my cost on the 2nd of May 07,I just looked up a bill!!

I'm now trying to figure out what this is!!

I don't see anything that looks like it in the book!!;shrug;shrug

I belive that is the Guide Stop. In my 93 FSM on page 10-6-10 Figure 9 it shows that guide fastened to the window. However I am not sure looking at the manual what the correct position on the window would be. Ecklers shows the part for 21.99 I think I need to find someone with a garage discount at the Chevy dealer so I can buy the part at their price.

John,The purple circled part is the one I think it might be! #41;shrug

I put both pages of the Parts and Illustration catalog Parts list so you could look and see what you think!!:D
