1978 Silver anniversary need to remove ignition lock. Don't find a detent to depress and no screw to remove. Anyone know how ignition lock comes out. Need to replace broken dimmer switch pivot.

1st welcome to CAC!!!!!
enjoy the forums!!!!

2) I have used a steering wheel puller from harbor frieght.
to depress the the lock wheel and remove the keeper.
it can be a challenge with the telescopic wheel.

good luck!!!!

Once you have the steering wheel locking ring removed you need to remove the signal indicator handle and then the signal switch. Insert the key in the lock and turn it to the On position. Looking at the lock cylinder from inside the column, there is a rectangular indent that you need to break through the metal flashing to be able to insert a thin blade screwdriver to depress the lock to remove the cylinder. You may have to do some wiggling around but it should come out.
