I found how the side shields bolt onto the exhaust manifold. (I found that some of the brackets had a different kink in them, which allowed me to align with the bolt). So ... I'm ok with that now, I also found the impossible to see hole on the block where 430 and 662 bolt into. So I think I am in pretty good shape.
 
What about where the spark plug wires go between the back 2 plugs and the front 2. Seems like it just drags across the exhaust manifold. Do I just pull them out as far as I can away from there, as I make the bridge between the front and the rear? (seems like they still touch the manifold.

  .  I put the new resistor in and she started up fine. I now have a timing problem though :ugh . When I moved the coil to where it was supposed to be, I had to turn the distributor a bit counterclockwise. The timing is now off and I should turn it clockwise, but the vacume strikes the coil preventing me from turning it. Is this something I can fix myself (I'm a novice)?
