I'm Impressed

I'm not about to take your or anyone else's opinion the wrong way or argue who's got the best product. I too did some info gathering and I did what I thought was right for my peace of mind. We're both "Joisy Boyz" and with the new trans we really should be able to :beer before Carlisle.

:beer That sounds ok With me.....Maybe we can get the NJCC boys together down here at KId's OC Mansion for a few Brewskis.......

Glad to hear that everyone is happy with their respective Tremec kits for their Corvettes.

As owner of ClassicChevy 5-Speed, I am obviously biased to the McLeod shifter that was built for our kit. When we looked for someone to design our Corvette shifter we had two main objectives.
1) To find the most qualified person for the job
2) To have it built in a way that we thought was better than the other alternatives. Why would we do it anyother way

With these things in mind, we partnered with the person that had the most impresive resume for consistently building the highest quality parts so we choose Red Roberts - owner of McLeod Industries. As most of you know, Red has been designing and building custom clutch and transmission parts since 1969. While Classic Chevy 5-Speed is new to the Corvette kit scene, Red has been around and has more experience than just about anyone in the business. So when "tried and true" or "tested" or "trusted" comes to mind, no one is more tested than Red and McLeod. So in reality, our offering comes with probably the most trusted and qualified experience that you will find in this industry.
In reality, all of the parts in our kit are similar to the other (a TKO is a TKO, a speedo cable is a spedo cable, a 1310 strap yoke is a 1310 strap yoke, etc.). At the end of the day, from a parts perspective, the real difference between the Corvette TKO kits is in the shifter.

When you actuaully have a chance to see the shifter (as opposed to hear the competitors explantion of it) you may feel differently. I could easily refer you to multiple, well respected Corvette mechanics who are neutral in this matter, and have actaully installed, road tested and compared both kits/shifters and they are very excited about the Mcleod unit. Once you have a chance to check out the shifter with your own hands and most importantly drive it, I think you would agree that it is a qualiy piece.

With that said, I have no comments about anyone else's product. All I would advise is to do your homework and you will end up making the best decsion for your Corvette.

I am glad to hear that everyone is happy with their respective transmissions.
I like talking about this stuff and I welcome any questions or ideas. I look forward to spending more time on this message board and helping where I can.
Enjoy 5th gear!
