Hello All:

Christmas came early for me this year!

I just installed my new C4 Grill Kit and it looks great!

I purchased the chrome plated model and man does it shine.

I bought this new product because a plastic bag caused my c-4 to over heat. ( OH the irony!)

It was a windy day and I saw the bag blow by form the right and didnt see it pass by on the left. About 15 minutes later, my c-4 overheated???!

The bag got sucked into the rad opening and rapped it's self around my fordward fan. The plastic heated up and melted around the fan....stoping it. ( man what a mess)

After replacing the fan (burned out) and a few relays and a fuse, I was back in business. ( Dam that Bag!)

So I think it was worth the $59.99 so I can save $400.00 in repair bills later. (no- chrome is $39.99)

You can check out the product at www.c4dhr.com ( these people make it)

I purchased mine from Corvette Central.

Be shure to talk to Manager Scott, if you want one, because the product is new, it will only be advertised in the new spring catolog and is not in the winter one.

Merry Christmas all

No offence...but that stuff looks like what stucco and plasterers use (wire lath) to hold a base coat.

I made my own and the material cost me $6.00. There was a posting on here giving instructions on how to do it!:beer

thanks for the heads up

Thought that area looked like a critter catcherand now see other stuff might just end up there too!
Will probably fab my own set up also.
But I'm thinking those chrome door handle covers might be nice!
I'm a reformed biker and trucker so my favorite color is CHROME!!!! Yea Baby!
And isnt enough on my 85.....,yet!

I had a plastic grocery bag get caught under my vette and stuck on the header. It melted and made a mess. I avoid plastic bags on the road now and if I HAVE to go over it, I make sure I see it in the rear view mirror. The screen in front of the radiator is a good idea IMHO.:D

An old newspaper stuck in there a few days back (no damage done) but now, thanks to you I have the exact idea of what to do!
(I'll make my own instead of buying one, too much $ for the mail down here)

See you! :w

This looks like a must have item for me. I just replaced my AC condenser this week and I couldn't beleive the amount of debris that had collected between the radiator and condenser. It was filled up over a third of the way with large and small leaves, papers, gravel - I think something was living in there at one point.
Does anyone know where the post is on this forum about making one of these yourself. Need a source for some of that grille material, maybe powder coated would look even better!

Being new to the C4 world I've read where a lot of "stuff" does find its way up into the radiator cavity. M.A.M. also has a screen that blocks off the opening preventing the "stuff" from getting up in there.

I'm curious to know if anyone else has installed something like that and if they have had any cooling issues as a result.

Thanks!
