Ok, So last Saturday, I got bored with all the crappy weather we have been getting, so I decided to install the Weiand (Holley) polished aluminum intake manifold on my Corvette. I took off way more than I needed to which added about an hour to the job, but overall it was not too bad. The one issue I did have was with the MAP sensor located on the back of the manifold. The hole was a bit larger than the stock causing a nice little vacuum leak that was only evident after starting the motor and hearing the high pitched whistle.
So I had to pull the manifold off and gut some Permatex Blue around the nipple of the sensor to correct the problem. I had to order a new gasket set from Summit and it was only two days for it to arrive. That gave the Permatex plenty of time to cure. I bolted it all back together and It looks sweet. No real performance gain as my car had the LS6 spec manifold already, but it looks kick ass! There is nothing better than $800 shiny parts on your motor. Next on the list are upgraded injectors and maybe billet fuel rails. I am sure that will lead into full long tube headers to mate up to my Corsa exhaust!
